Haven’t been to a gym in a while? For many who have been out of the loop with gym memberships and feel intimidated a good way to start is to check out several of the local fitness centers. Not all fitness centers are the same. One may attract a younger crowd than others. Some focus on bodybuilding and others are dedicated to those who suffer from severe obesity.
If you need to join a fitness center but have concerns about feeling self-conscious then make a list of the local fitness centers and just go and take a glance at the type of members they are appealing to. Although they may attempt to do a hard sell when you first walk in, maintain that you are JUST LOOKING before joining, and make sure that it is the type of fitness center that will keep you coming back. If you walk into a gym and you see everyone looks like they should be posing for a fitness magazine then perhaps that is not the best fitness center for you.
Creating a small gym at home could be a great alternative until you achieve a satisfactory weight loss goal that will make you comfortable in a public gym.
